A new musical inspired by the life and legacy of acclaimed Miami artist Purvis Young. Produced by Clare Vickery of @graceartscenterinc.9319 , Othello of Overtown explores the early years of Young's artistic journey through theater, live jazz, history, and rare archival footage. The project will be presented through free public readings at: 📍 NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale July 2, 2026 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM 📍 Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) July 11, 2026 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM The readings are part of the development of the full production scheduled for 2027.
